Last week, I was able to take a day off of work so that all three of us could catch up on some sleep and spend some quality time together. After breakfast, Sarah and I decided it had been far too long since we had escaped from the suburbs and spent sometime out in the "great outdoors." It was a wonderful day and something that I should do more often.

4 months old today

The last 4 months have gone by at what seems to be break-neck speed. Maddie went in for her 4 month check up and weighed in at 14.3Lbs and measured 24 1/2" tall errr should I say long. In any case she is growing. While it seems cliché , she is growing up way too fast!

A Mid Summer's Afternoon

Maddie has developed many new expressions over the last month. We only wish that we could get a picture of everyone of her little "expressive" faces.
Maddie loves being outdoors, she is incredibly fascinated by all the colors and summer sounds when we step outside. She also has becoming increasingly curious as most 3 and a half month old babies do. She is using her hands and starting to figure out how all those fingers work. She will find an object and seems to try to take in every little detail of whatever object is in front of her.
At this point, Maddie was testing the durability of the stem of the flower.

Then she touches the purple flower petals.

At first, Maddie was not too sure if she enjoyed the feel of grass on her little feet. Eventually she warmed up to that prickly green stuff.
